Bellator Announces Venue for Sophomore Event
Bellator Fighting Championships, announced today that Bellator II (the second event of the highly anticipated 12-week tournament series airing on ESPN Deportes) will be hosted by Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut on April 10, 2009. The second nationally and internationally-televised event hosted by Mohegan Sun will occur Friday, June 12, 2009 and will feature a Bellator World Championship bout.

Official UFC 96 Weigh-in Results
The following are the official weigh-in results for Saturday night’s UFC 96 card. UFC 96, features a light heavyweight bout between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine, will air live on pay-per-view from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio beginning at 10pm ET / 7pm PT.

DREAM 7: Featherweight Grandprix 2009
Dream, the Japanese mixed martial arts promotion, will proceed with the opening salvo of their 2009 Featherweight Grandprix this Sunday, 3/8/09. The seventh event for the organization, the card will include the initial round of a competition between 12 featherweight fighters, the 139 lb weight class. In addition to the six featherweight bouts, the event will include one welterweight match and two lightweight matches. Dream 7 will air on tape-delay on Saturday, March 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HDNet. M-1 Global Issues Press Release Regarding Sidelnikov
M-1 Global has issued a press release attributing Kirill Sidelnikov's positive test for Stanozol due to a commonly used Russian nasal spray taken by the fighter prior to the fight and cites the error as a youthful lapse of judgment.
Marcos Galvao Cleared of Serious Injury, Receives Medical Suspension
Marcos Galvao's bout with Damacio Page at WEC 39 on March 1st ended in breathtaking fashion at 18 seconds into the match as Galvao suffered a brutal KO. After the fighter was knocked unconscious Damacio delivered two more punches before the fight was stopped by referee Rafael Ramos. While Ramos was criticized for what has been deemed by some as a late stoppage, the heavier criticism was leveled at the WEC for what occured afterward.
Potential WEC PPV Events Being Discussed
Earlier this week it was reported that the highly anticipated rematch between WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown and former champ Uriah Faber may be about to be announced and that the proposed match would be broadcast as WEC's first PPV. The suggestion came from Dana White himself during an interview with the Sacramento radio statio KHTK as reported by Five Ounces of Pain.
Struve Versus Stojnic: Loser Goes Home
According to a report from UK based Fighters Only, Stefan "The Skyscraper" Struve (16-3) will be fighting Denis "The Menace" Stojnic (5-2) at UFC 99 in Cologne, Germany. Both fighters suffered a defeat by TKO in their respective UFC debuts. The fight itself is being reported as a elimination bout where the loser is cut from the organization, though the certainty of this provision has not been confirmed by the UFC.
UFC 98 Fight Card Adding Up
Following two days of official announcements from the UFC, the fight card for UFC 98 "Lesnar vs Mir 2" taking place on Saturday, May 23rd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV has been solidified.
In addition to the heavyweight title fight and rematch of Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir, the long anticipated grudge match between Matt Huges and and Matt Serra has also been confirmed.
