Zuffa, LLC, dba the Ultimate Fighting Championship, today announced that it served a demand for retraction upon the parent entities and executives of the website CagePotato regarding certain false and defamatory statements attributed to UFC President, Dana White, in an April 14 website posting.

The Swedish debut for UFC was a rousing success by the numbers. A record 15,428 fans packed Stockholm's Ericsson Globe Arena, for reportedly over $2 million in gate receipts. And although Swedish fighters were just 2-3 on the night, local star Alexander Gustafsson came away with a huge victory, putting him into a position to potentially vie for a title shot.

Friday night’s Bellator 65 event, from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, played host to exciting mixed martial arts action. Headliners Eduardo Dantas and Zach Makovsky met for the Bellator bantamweight championship. Daniel Straus took on Mike Corey with a place in the featherweight tournament finals on the line. And Marcos Galvao, Ed West, Alexis Vila, and Luis Nogueira looked to advance to the bantamweight semi-finals.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey hosted Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) latest event CFFC XIV. The CFFC presented us with 11 battles and three championship matches. The championship bouts were headlined by former UFC contender and current champion Greg Soto, bringing his welterweight belt up against former teammate and hard-hitting striker George Sullivan.

When Bellator Fighting Championships makes its first trip of the season to Atlantic City, it brings with it a loaded fight card including a Bantamweight Title Fight headlined by Bellator Bantamweight World Champion Zach Makovsky and challenger Eduardo “Dudu” Dantas, as well as a Season 6 Featherweight Tournament semifinal bout and the last two quarterfinal fights in the Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament. Also, a stacked preliminary card is official and is loaded with the best talent from the East Coast and Midwest.

Mark Fischer might be one of the most influential figures in the sport of MMA—though few people know about him or what he does. When Zuffa announced in August of 2010 that it had opened a dedicated Asian Operations division naming Fischer its executive vice president and managing director, there was no doubt amongst industry insiders that Fischer was the perfect man for the job. Fischer worked for the NBA for approximately 12 years and was in charge of helping grow the popularity of that brand across Asia. MMA Spot's Rich Wyatt recently spoke with Mark from his office in China to find out more about the UFC’s recent successful return to Japan and the goals that the company has for expanding its presence in Asia.

Headlining the card was a welterweight title fight between Bellator Champion Ben Askren defending his crown against season five tournament winner Douglas Lima, a featherweight tournament semifinal between heavy favorites Alexandre Bezerra and Marlon Sandro, as well as the opening pair of bantamweight tournament bouts.

Ultimate Fighting Championship and Multi Screen Media – a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television, announced their partnership to broadcast UFC programming in India and the rest of the sub-continent. MSM’s new sports channel – SIX, will deliver the world’s largest brand of mixed martial arts to Indian fans across the country by airing live UFC events, taped specials, and exciting bouts from the vast UFC library.

The Bellator 64 weigh-ins have been completed from Windsor, Ontario in preparation for Bellator’s Friday night event at the Caesars Windsor, which features the welterweight title fight between undefeated champion Ben Askren and challenger Douglas Lima. Also, a  Bellator season six featherweight tournament semifinal fight will take place as Marlon Sandro meets “Popo” Bezerra. Additionally, the Bellator bantamweight tournament kicks off with a pair of matchups as Travis Marx takes on Masakatsu Ueda and Rodrigo Lima squares off against Hiroshi Nakamura.

After dispatching one of Team Faber’s most dangerous fighters last week on “The Ultimate Fighter: Live” Dominick Cruz set out to take Team Faber’s top pick out of the tournament. Cruz chose his fighter, Myles Jury, to step in against Al Iaquinta. And at the end of this week’s episode, entitled “All The Pressure,” the show had a new personality. During the video taped build up leading into the live fight we saw Mike Rio injure his knee and continue pressing through training. Meanwhile both Iaquinta and Jury prepared for their fight by working on-on-one with the coaches.

Tonight Bellator kicked off their season six welterweight tournament, live from the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The evening saw four men advance to the semi-finals of the tournament. Among them were Karl Amoussou, Bryan "The Beast Baker" in his welterweight debut, David Rickels, and UFC veteran Ben Saunders.
