Georgi Karakhanyan Wins WSOF Inaugural Featherweight Title

With a nine-fight winning streak to his credit, Georgi Karakhanyan is the World Series of Fighting's first-ever feather- weight champion. Karakhanyan earned the belt with a slick, third-round submission of previously undefeated contender Lance Palmer in the main event of Saturday's "World Series of Fighting 7: Karakhanyan vs. Palmer" event, which took place at PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Honchak Retains Flyweight Title

Barb Honchak won a hard-fought, unanimous decision victory to retain the Invicta FC flyweight world championship over challenger Leslie Smith in Saturday’s Invicta Fighting Championships 7 at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. Honchak and Smith traded blows in the all-action bout, but it was Honchak’s technical striking and ability to take Smith to the ground and inflict damage that was the difference.

Rousimar Palhares Signs Multi-Fight Deal With WSOF

World Series of Fighting is happy to announce the addition of Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Rousimar Palhares to the company's welterweight roster. The submission master signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion and is expected to debut in the World Series of Fighting decagon in early 2014. "Rousimar is one of the most talented athletes in mixed martial arts, and we're excited to have him as a part of our organization," World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo said.

WSOF 7: Kyle Injured, Karakhanyan vs. Palmer To Headline

The World Series of Fighting 7 light heavyweight showdown between Anthony "Rumble" Johnson and Mike "MAK" Kyle has been canceled after Kyle suffered a broken toe in training and was forced to withdraw from the contest. The new main event will be a previously announced five-round bout for World Series of Fighting's inaugural featherweight title between Georgi "Insane" Karakhanyan and Lance "Unstoppable" Palmer.

Fight Lab 34 Round-By-Round Results

This Saturday night Fight Lab, one of the southeast’s top promotions, returned to Charlotte’s Grady Cole Center, site of UFC 3, for Fight Lab 34. The card featured a bevy of rising stars and regional favorites. The main event pitted Kevin Forant against Bellator veteran Ronnie Rogers, a bout that was decided quickly and decisively. The card, loaded with ten bouts. had action from the opening minutes of the opening bout through the very end.

Bellator Releases Undefeated Welterweight Champion Ben Askren

Ben Askren is now an unrestricted free agent after Bellator released the undefeated welterweight. The Bellator welterweight world title will be vacant until Douglas Lima faces the winner of the season nine welterweight tournament later this winter when the new Bellator welterweight champion will be crowned.
