Patrick Cote Delays Return until August
After undergoing surgery for a meniscus tear suffered 39 seconds into the third round of his fight with Anderson Silva, Patrick Cote was slated to return to action by this June at the latest.
Prior to the fight Cote put off a much needed knee surgery despite reaggravating his knee during his training. Cote's decision proved to have drastic consequences for his immediate future.
Joe Lauzon out 12 to 14 Months
According to Joe Lauzon's website, and what can be considered straight from the horse's mouth, Lauzon has suffered an ACL injury that will leave him sidelined and out of the cage for 12 to 14 months.
A veteran of two previous knee surgeries, this latest outing will be his most extensive knee surgery to date.
RUMOR: Din Thomas Signs 3 Fight Deal With Affliction
Sources close to the former UFC Lightweight contender have told MMA Spot's J. Andrew Yount that Din 'Dinyero' Thomas has recently inked a three fight contract with Affliction MMA.
Thomas (23-8), who recently made his debut at 145lbs. by submitting Dustin Pierkin via triangle choke, should be a welcomed addition to the Affliction brand.

Koscheck to stay busy; Fighting at UFC 98
Josh Koscheck will continue his role as one of the busiest fighters in the sport when he, once again, has a quick turn around and steps into the cage at UFC 98 in Las Vegas, NV on May 23rd. This announcement comes via Koscheck's Blog in which he shares his thoughts on UFC 95, where he suffered a controversial loss to UFC newcomer Paulo Thiago.

Mizugaki Replaces Injured Bowles Against Torres at WEC 40
In an unfortunate turn of events, highly touted Brian Bowles who is widely regarded as a top 3 fighter in the Bantamweight division has been forces out of his much anticipated title fight against Miguel Torres. However, all is not lost as, Takeya Mazugaki, another top ten Bantamweight has already stepped up and taken the fight.

Spike’s UFC 95 Tape-Delayed Telecast Draws 3 Million Viewers
According to MMA Payout, Spike TV's telecast of UFC 95 on tape delay from London, England on 2/21/09 was the #1 program on television for male viewers ages 13-34 (634,000) and 18-49 (1,244,000) during the original US broadcast from 9:00pm-Midnight. The overall number hit a high of 3 million for the 11:30pm Main Event featuring Joe 'Daddy' Stevenson versus Diego 'Nightmare' Sanchez.

Pennsylvania to allow MMA
Here's a press release that was just sent out by the Pa. Dept. of State:
State Athletic Commission's Newly-Approved Regulations Take Effect Feb. 27
HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania has joined the growing number of states to allow Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, events, now that the State Athletic Commission has approved final regulations for the sport, Secretary of the Commonwealth Pedro A. Cortés announced today. The new regulations take effect Feb. 27, 2009.
